Wellpets is a two-branch veterinary practice offering diagnostic services, nurse clinics, and an out-of-hours service (per its website). Recent reviews frequently describe routine appointments running smoothly (medication ready on time; help from reception and nursing staff) and vets explaining options clearly—especially during end-of-life visits. Reviews also mention practical support such as recommending products to reduce travel anxiety in dogs and accommodating an assessment in a car park when needed.
However, there is a detailed, highly critical account of a dog dental procedure (14 tooth extractions) alleging severe post-operative complications, infected open extraction sites found by an emergency vet, and a complaint escalated to the RCVS; the same review states the practice does not have dental X-ray facilities on site despite performing dental surgery.

Fantastic friendly service and genuine empathy for the difficult visits. Small team, excellent contacts and hands on relevant advice. Highly recommended.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of care my dog, Benny, received at Well Pets following a dental procedure in July 2025. Fourteen teeth were removed. After surgery, Benny was in severe pain, bleeding heavily from the mouth, and unable to eat or drink. Despite multiple return visits, his condition worsened. An emergency vet later discovered open, un-sutured extraction sites that had become infected, requiring further surgery, hospitalisation, IV fluids, and a feeding tube. The additional treatment cost around £4,000 and caused great distress to both Benny and myself. I have raised a formal complaint with the practice, but their response has been unsatisfactory. I feel the standard of care fell well below what should be expected, and I would urge other pet owners to ask careful questions about post-operative care and available facilities before proceeding with dental surgery here. I certainly was not aware prior to his surgery they do not have dental Xray facilities on site despite routinely performing dental surgery. I have now progressed my complaint to the RCVS. Attached is a photo of Benny showing the state of his mouth following surgery at Well Pets prior to me having to take him for emergency treatment. Enough said.

Always feel welcome and due to my rescue dog that trusts no man due to her ill treatment with her owner before being rescued by the animal shelter. She is becoming a little more trusting as I introduce her to men, asking them to gentle put their hands out for her to sniff then to gently stroke - It is working and she is becoming more trusting….

Today we took our 18 year old cat to be put to sleep. Through out the whole process we were kept informed and everything was explained. I want to thank the vet for showing compassion and allowing Roxy dignity and taking her time

Great service yet again at Wellpets, Worle. The team responded quickly when I became concerned for my pets' welfare and she was given careful and thorough assessment. TD even came out to the car park in case I needed help with pooch ❤️
