Hillyfields Vets is a small-animal practice (dogs and cats are specifically mentioned) offering emergency care alongside routine appointments. Ownership/group status isn’t stated in the information provided. In reviews, owners describe both planned visits (e.g., a first health check after a dog arrived from abroad) and urgent presentations (a dog with an unexplained seizure), with staff reportedly taking time to explain procedures and not rushing consultations. A distinctive feature mentioned is a free “dog-welcome plan” of six short “play” sessions for young dogs to build positive vet visits with treats and fuss. One reviewer reports repeated billing problems (overcharging and conflicting information about payments) and long waits, contrasting with multiple others who describe the team as helpful and organised.

Both of my dogs have been to Hillyfields Vets in the past couple of weeks. One as his first check in the UK having come from North Macedonia and one as he seemed to be having an unexplained seizure of some sort. I have therefore experienced the practice in both a calm, planned way and an emergency situation. Both times I found the reception to be friendly, knowledgable and welcoming and the vets to be wonderfully friendly, calm and kind as well as experts in the care of my dogs. I love the dog-welcome plan that involves young dogs being invited to come for 6 short ‘play’ sessions where they learn that going to the vets is OK. They learn that people are friendly and will give them treats and fuss! This, incredibly, is free. I think it’s a great investment and means that the dogs will be less stressed so will allow the vets to do what they need to much better. This is a lovely, friendly practice comprised of a knowledgeable and skilful team of professionals. I am extremely grateful that you are my local vet practice 😃

If you like to be miss informed (by various member of the team including reception and vet) about payments due or wait long times for your turn it's great place! After now third time being overcharged for treatment and refusing to pay I was threated about more charges. I've tried to resolve it but it's like banging your head against the wall ... NOT recommended! Note: I have been with them for three years and they looked after 4 of my pets..had enough

Really Friendly and knowledgeable staff. My dog is always happy to visit. The staff are brilliant, always taking the time to listen to you, and explain in detail the procedure. I've never felt rushed. Visited during covid, and the clinic has clearly taken steps to make it safe for the pet owners to wait in the waiting area whilst their pet is being seen. We are very glad to have chosen Alexandra and Hillyfields as our veterinary practice and would definitely recommend.

So Caring, was waiting when they opened, they looked after Percy so well. Also so kind to me, I'd been up all night with him.
