#12 Vet in North Somerset, Somerset
Companion Care (Weston Super Mare) Ltd is described on its website as a locally owned practice run by Dr Bobby and his team, based inside a Pets at Home. The clinic appears set up for a wide range of in-house work, with an operating theatre, hospital ward, isolation unit, oxygen chamber, in-house lab, and X‑ray/ultrasound listed.
From the latest reviews, experiences are polarised: some owners describe fast booking and organised care (including a call back first thing after an overnight appointment request, and thorough pre‑op/aftercare around neutering), while others report poor communication and lack of compassion, including serious allegations of misdiagnosis over months preceding a pet’s death.
Out-of-hours arrangements are described on the website as being provided by Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic (separate provider).
Services and capabilities mentioned on the clinic website include
Emergency care: the website states out-of-hours emergency services are provided by Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic. (This differs from the structured clinic data that flags “Emergency veterinary services (24/7 or extended hours)”, so it’s worth clarifying directly with the practice how emergencies are handled.)
Also listed in the structured clinic data: Veterinary Nurse Training facility.

I would like to warn everyone who wants to use Companion Care. It's the worst vet I've ever dealt with. Zero support and care, poor communication. I lost my beloved dog and received no support. Vets are very unprofessional and lack compassion. Three years ago, we almost lost our dog because of the same vet, but this time we couldn't save him because it was too late. I was the one who insisted on a blood test. It's the worst vet, please don't go there. The only people with a heart are the ladies at the front desk, who are very helpful.

Such a lovely group of staff, always so friendly and helpful. I put an appointment request form through in the night about 1am and I got a call as soon as they opened this morning to book an appointment in today:)

Worst vets! Do not use do not go! Absolutely shocking care and no help from a very rude manager! I can't give less then 1 star. Lies after lies. No phone call back just a horrible nasty email from the manager. Avoid at all cost! Don't normally write reviews but had to warn people.

Avoid at all costs, they’ve consistently misdiagnosed our dog illness over a period of 3 months, resulting in the unexpected death of our beautiful dog today. Heartbroken and so angry at there neglect. Please, do not use this vet, they don’t care about them just another number and invoice.

I took both of my dogs from a different local practice as I really didn’t get a good vibe from them. Not sure if it was the stigma around American Bully’s which are now of course a banned breed. Signed them up with Companion and the care they have both received throughout the past year has been second to none. I honestly wouldn’t want to go anywhere else! All staff - nurses to vets, to the women at reception, they are all fantastic. Both of my dogs have been recently neutered everything has been so thorough from the pre-op checks to the after care, it has been great. No stigma or bad experiences around the breed here, they care for them like any other breed. The staff remember both of them every time they come in which is so lovely. Cannot recommend Companion enough. Thank you! 🙂🐾

I'm not one for writing reviews unless I am blown away by something!! With pets at home companion care in Weston super mare the team have done just that! My beloved buster had a tumor on his Paw and the team have done nothing but give him the best and treat buster as one of there own, he has had nothing but the best from this team and have been very clear and honest what buster would need from the start, they have not tried to sell me any extras that buster might not need, they have just hands down given him the best and for that I have my boy back and on the mend, so thank you so so much I must also add that my lovely Lab Archie unfortunately had to be put to sleep at the same vets and when he lost the use of his back legs the team was waiting for him with a dog stretcher at the back entrance so me and Archie did not have to go through the distress of going through the main entrance when he was in such a bad way, as sad as it was to lose Archie that day the team went above and beyond that day and helped make a heart breaking time the tiny bit better, I can not thank them enough for the care they have given buster and the late Archie and I truly believe they have had nothing but the best from this team Thank you for everything you have done Chris,Tony and most importantly Buster🐾
