#1 Vet in North Somerset, Somerset
Beaconsfield Veterinary Clinic offers vet consults, surgery and a range of nurse-led clinics and pet packages (including puppy/kitten and senior clinics). Reviews describe them fitting in a new client with a poorly cat, explaining treatment options and costs clearly (“no hidden fees”), and not always pushing medication if another option is available. Owners also mention a rabbit surgery where everything was discussed in detail, and an urgent appointment for a dog with a leg laceration where the team acted quickly and handled a nervous dog well. One reviewer reports the opposite experience—feeling “steamrolled” into buying sedatives—so experiences around prescribing can vary.

Beaconsfield Veterinary Clinic fitted me in with my poorly cat as a new client and made a really stressful situation feel much easier. Everyone was friendly, caring, and took the time to explain everything clearly, including costs, with no hidden fees. I felt genuinely listened to, and my cat is already feeling much better. I’m very thankful for their care.

Fantastic care of my rabbit who had to have surgery 2 days ago, everything was discussed in detail. The rabbit is doing amazingly well considering what she's been through.

This is a great vet, they are gentle, caring and interested in my dog, they don't rush into giving medications out if there is another option and I never feel rushed in and out of my appointments with them. The nurses and reception staff are wonderful and will go to any length to make a visit pleasant for my dog. Reception staff are friendly and polite and have always accommodated me with appointment changes etc. FAB practise I highly recommend.

Had an emergency whilst on holiday near Weston. My dog sliced his leg open and managed to get an appointment with this vets. They acted quickly, professionally and very helpful with getting him seen too and treated. Dealt with my nervous dog brilliantly and made it a much better experience for him.

It’s a bit early to give a proper review but I was surprised and disappointed that the vet diagnosed my 14 y/o Westie with ‘Westie skin’ after he was irritated by something. She then steamrolled me into buying sedatives for my dog and basically just made me feel cornered and overwhelmed. Lots of people have recommended them to me so I’m not going to judge than just yet. I’m hoping they improve and it was just a blip.

Really impressed so far. I was recommended randomly by someone overhearing a conversation with my partner about how the vet we had just been to for ten mins had charged £45. We hadn’t felt that they had spent time answering our questions. I switched to beaconsfield and I haven’t even been in to see them yet with Salvador because they have been really professional and advised us on email. I was concerned they would be quick to get us in to spend money but they were just really reassuring and kind. They still offered to have our boy in if needed but they made us feel very assured and their advice worked as he’s a lot better! I would recommend them
