Blake Veterinary Group Ltd runs multiple surgeries and treats both domestic and exotic pets. The website highlights nursing staff on site 24 hours a day, and provides instructions for what to do if an emergency happens when the clinic is closed. Recent reviews also describe practical, pet-stress-reducing touches (a waiting area divided so cats can sit separately from dogs) and examples of case management such as keeping owners informed during a “serious illness,” and sourcing a longer-acting antibiotic to avoid daily return visits for injections. One recent review raises a specific concern about inconsistent information around eligibility for a discounted geriatric screening offer.

We were very happy with the practice cleanliness, also the waiting area is divided into two areas so cats and have a separate area to dogs. The staff are very nice and welcoming, very helpful and informative. The vets we saw are very good and the information was explained very well. All in all very happy with our experience and would definitely recommend.

Thank you to all at Blake Vets for looking after Alfie (and me!) during his recent serious illness. I was kept informed throughout and don't doubt that Alfie had the best care.

Highly recommend Blake vets at the showground Bridgwater. The staff are always friendly and helpful with any queries. I have seen a couple of vets now with miss Dorothy and they have been professional, helpful, informative and shown nothing but care for our little girl, who was a little poorly when we 1st had her. Dottie is now thriving thanks to all the advice that we were given.

NOT happy with Blakes today. Several wks ago i had a cold call from Blakes offering my cats an £85 geriatric test with a nurse, to inc full blood, blood pressure and urine tests. I havent been able to find anything online about this, so discussed with 1 receptionist, who referred me to another, who referred me to (I believe) Katy the nurse. I was told it was available to cats over 7yo, who had seen a vet in the last 12mths and were deemed well. I booked appts with vet Richard (the best vet around) who gave that confirmation for 2 of my cats (13yo & 14yo). That cost me £72(?) per cat. I then had to wait nearly 2 wks for the wellness check. A little while after dropping them at Blakes today, I was phoned to say that neither cat fitted the criteria for the offer as 1 had longstanding ibs (an irrelevant condition, for which he receives no veterinary treatment), and the other cat had lost weight recently. (I pointed out that that was wrong. Infact her weight had normalised again, after an increase following use of an appetite stimulant a year ago). Laura said sorry, they couldn't be tested per the £85 per cat offer, it would be the usual terms (ie £245 per cat!). I'm not a happy bunny! Complete waste of my/Richard's valuable time/waste of £144 on consultation fees and 2 stressful vet trips for my cats, which weren't needed. I've been a client at Blakes for about 8 yrs. I have a large number of cats on their books. Not that i can find the offer written down anywhere, it seems to be only for cats over 7yo, who have never had any health issues, ever! (and even then they may still say no!).
