Vets in Martock, Somerset
Kingfisher Veterinary Practice is a multi-branch practice (a reviewer refers to it as a “business of four practices”) that offers out-of-hours emergency care and routine in-practice appointments, with options for structured preventative care via a Pet Health Club® Plus plan (consultations included, price not stated). Reviews describe both everyday care (nervous cats settling once inside; dogs given a small biscuit) and more complex/sensitive situations such as surgery for an elderly dog and end-of-life support, including keepsakes after euthanasia. Feedback is mixed on administrative/communication handling: some owners mention condolence cards and staying in touch after a loss, while one review describes a lack of sympathy and repeated calls/texts during a cremation/insurance query.

I have no issues with the practice staff but beware of how the company deals with their human clients. My dog went missing in August and was found dead in a field two months later. When I phone Kingfisher to enquire about cremation the person I spoke to did not offer a single word of condolence. And this was where the nightmare became worse. Since then I have received numerous phone calls telling me amongst other issues that they had confirmed with an insurance company that my dog was indeed dead. When they disconnect the call if you don’t answer asap the person at the end of the phone disputes they rang you at all. A text asking you to call follows within a minute. This mode of dealing with a grieving pet owner is appalling. Clearly this business of four practices needs to get their act together before more owners become caught up in a never ending nightmare.

The locum vet was clearly incompetent as his examination of the cat failed to notice that the cat had a bad infestation of fleas!!! I was away at the time and relying on someone else to care for the cat. After the visit, they noticed the fleas and gave the cat a treatment but not before he has lost a large area of hair. I would have noticed the fleas, had I been home, but the vet didn't! Really basic clinical examination should have checked for fleas. Terrible ;ack of service for which I have had to pay! I will be seeking compensation

Thank you to all for the wonderful care and support . That hardest day for us was met with care, love, kindness and sympathy when we sadly had to let our amazing , silly, beloved Emma go. The beautiful keepsakes they did for us will forever be cherished. Great team and will all support you in the happy and sad times for your loved pet family. Thank you again from Swain family.

A great first impression. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff and the vet was excellent with our dog who is a terrible patient.

Friendly welcoming and good advice given. Our dog actually wags her tsil and gets excited when going there, probably because she remembers the little bone biscuit she is given

Always do their utmost to help both the animal and the owner. Sugar is an elderly dog that needed surgery and they took the greatest care of her and kept me well informed throughout. Thank you so much to everyone involved in Sugars care

Very nice vets. Saw my dogs very quickly. Friendly staff and plenty of parking. Update: seen these vets a few times now and they are totally brilliant. They were extremely kind and patient with my crazy 9month old collie when he was being neutered! 😆 Highly recommended! (Picture is of Bones, post surgery and a few days later 😉. Totally fine)
